This album is made up of spirituals, work songs, and other pieces in early Black music.  These are the songs of fields, homes, work sites, and camp meetings - where the only instruments were human voices raised in harmony, clapping, stomping, and hand percussion.  Some of these pieces will be familiar, but others are rare works that have been seldom or never recorded.  CD has 13 songs and runs about 58 minutes.
